How times change - when I first began getting into cars and the BMW scene, E30s were nice used cars, but 2002 was the car for purists, particularly a round tail light Tii, of which I had a couple. The nicest E30 M3 with low miles pushing upper teens at the time ... rose tinted lenses indeed :)
I was really excited about this, but after watching it, I'm left wanting something different. The cars are beautiful, the camera work is nice, and it's good to get some exposure to the different types of people who own and drive these cars. But the narration and the overall feel of the film was just, saccharine.
Vietnam special at 118?!?!?! How high are you right now Raph?!?!
Colonizing Mars sounds good...at first, but then the colonists find ancient alien technology and use it to build an empire with a massive war machine that eventually grows disillusioned with their harsh Martian quality of life and the highest lords in the feudal system build "landing castles" that orbit earth…
I agree! Something I'd love to do. I've been pitching the idea of doing the Revolutionary War with cars. That'd be fun, and we'd win.
Transformation? I miss the days when I can actually buy the cars they race(or close enough), like Sti and Evo. A FWD econo box has nothing in common as an AWD turbo.
"many turbo engines don't sound that great.". The Fiat 500 Abarth would like to have a word with you.
Et tu, Ford?!?!?!
Apparently, Miata is always the answer.

Of these four, the F-Type. Sure the 911 is a technological marvel, and the vette is cheap (not exactly a good thing always), but the Mercedes is uninteresting to me. The F-Type has a sense of spirit, class, panache, rarity, and luxury, all bundled into a gorgeous body and a hypnotic exhaust note.
The Z06 is the fastest, best, most reliable, best looking choice. I'd have that one.
