Yup... AWD will get you moving, but it won’t help you turn or stop.   AWD gives a lot of drivers a false sense of security.

I’d change “famous” boxer engine to “infamous”.

Correction: Subaru knew it could pander to people’s sense of “I’m a rugged individual”, or their feelings of “I don’t really care what I drive, as long as it’s practical and AWD”, or their satisfaction that a PZEV badge on the back means it’s environmentally friendly even with thoroughly mediocre fuel economy.

While they may have aced the AWD and Turbo classes, they slept right through the Head Gasket Engineering classes and handed in an origami throwing star for the final project.

Until the taxing agencies pull their collective heads out of their asses and start charging road tax by weight and mileage, vehicles will continue to get bigger and heavier.

For oddball used cars like this, the “books” are beyond useless. They simply do not have any data on which to base a valuation. For a 5-6yo used car where 10,000 sell at auctions a month, sure, they are probably spot on.

You show me what auction has “close to clean” running accords for $1500 and I will go buy them all.

even in excellent condition this thing is worth $1,500-$2,500

Price seems fair for a time capsule like this.

You can disagree with the price all you want, but you will never find a cleaner example of this car. Especially not in the 4 figures range.

A late model car is not an investment vehicle, its value doesn’t go up and down and up and down.

I specifically left the heater in my race car so I can turn it on if the car starts getting warm on track. This is a valid strategy.

Heater cores are just additional engine radiators. Running cool air over them pulls heat from the system just the same, which is why this technique can be used to help an engine that is borderline (but won’t save an engine that’s already fubar).

Hopefully this outlook allows me to get even older.

Honda somewhat fumbled the NSX out of the gate with a bad tire choice. This left initial reviewers with a bad experience, which resulted in a poor reception for a car that had a lot of hype and high hopes around it. Honda later rectified this by offering a better tire, but at that point a lot of the damage had been

I would definitely be interested in a S660.

Objectively incorrect take. The goal of the original NSX was to match or exceed the performance of the current V8 Ferrari (328 at first, then 348 later in development), but do so with a more reliable car at a lower price point. The new NSX did exactly that for a newer generation.

It was quicker than the 911 Turbo the year it was released and was as quick as a 488 while costing significantly less than both. I’m curious what more performance you were hoping for for $156k in 2016.

Is it safe to assume that after the guy said “tough luck” he continued by saying “Tap tap no take-backsies!”, and that said guy was 7?  otherwise he sorely deserved a boot to the nuts

Yeah, this is sort of why I think these kinds of free-for-alls are rife for conflict.

I’ve never really had a problem with American.  It’s too bad Southwest doesn’t let google flights access their prices.
