Peterson only got 13 carries? I didn't watch the game, can someone explain why they kept giving the ball to a guy who likely doesn't know 5% of their playbook?
No, thats not what the plan was with XB1. You either roll-out an exclusive digital retail system without selling physical copies and then you can implement DRM to prevent piracy. They didn't have it yet but they still decided to piss off a large portion of their market share. Do you understand that yet?
I really want you to re-read what you wrote and tell me if I'm supposed to understand what any of that meant.
I know what Steam is and it doesn't really help your point.
I understand what the reasoning is but it doesn't work. You are pushing away a large part of your market-share away to save a small percentage of what you will eventually lose in the long-run.
Saving money/not losing money kind of the same thing.
I can't make it any clearer than I already have. I can't help you understand any more, and since you keep insisting on making up excuses FOR the companies then this isn't going anywhere. If you really believe that Microsoft didn't backtrack because they were afraid of losing money then I've got some magic beans I'd…
The market for trade-ins/used games is something that has been around for decades and they continually underestimate the number of people who actually do it. If it was a small amount they could do without then they would not have discontinue this. Why did Microsoft introduce that DRM-like feature that killed used…
And that is the problem. Again, they are just punishing the masses to inflate their bottom line.
They aren't "extra features" they are aspects of the game that they hold hostage until you pay them more. It is not "incentive", they aren't offering free DLC or anything of the type they are cutting off parts of the game even after you have already paid for it.
I don't know if you have a problem with reading comprehension or what but I'll say it one more time. An online pass is punishing people who buy the games used because it is denying them features simply because of the type of product they bought.
Exactly, there are plenty of ways to generate revenue without pissing off all of your paying customers. It's crazy how many people are trying to defend these practices as if they are necessary.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, ok. So if something is "supposed" to be of less value it's up to publishers to, again, punish everyone and make it a point that they buy games brand-new and no other way.
Ok, so I guess that because XBL exists that none of the games should be playable online without ANOTHER fee? If I buy a used game is that not enough to allow me to play online? I HAVE TO buy the game brand-new or half it's functionality is gone and that is plain stupid.
If I buy a game used and I am paying for access to Xbox Live already why do I need to pay even more to play individual games online? I bought the game, I didn't steal it. My XBL subscript is real, not faked. My Xbox is not modded, its legit.
Not really. If you pay for something you should get it, no matter what. These kinds of moves often punish the masses rather than change anything regarding piracy.
Developers and publishers always seem to humiliate themselves when they try to fight piracy or "shoplifters"; It won't change anytime soon.
