Problem is, there's very very very little difference between iPad 3 and iPad "4". It's really just the bottom connector (arguably the reason they did this) and the processor (still a dual core, A6X instead of A5X, same exact graphics chip). Why would anyone not buy the iPad 3 over the iPad 4 for $100 cheaper? I think

I'd assume so. I can't imagine that the new iPad would take 12W either, but I can't say for sure with the odd as heck release cycle the iPad is in right now. I haven't heard of the 12W shipping with the new iPad 3.1/iPad 4/newer iPad whatever you want to call it.

Does anyone have a clue (or has heard any rumors) about what the release cycle on the iPad will be? Are they going to start releasing it in the fall, or are we going to see something this March?

I'm really not even sure the new one is an iPad 4. What's different? A6X (Still dual core), Front Facing Camera, and the Lightning connector. It makes me wonder if we might see a new iPad in March as usual.

The carrier has tons of power in the US, because they are the ones that actually buy the phones. They order them from the manufacturers, and choose which ones are sold to your average consumer. It's nearly impossible to buy your own phone on Verizon and Sprint. So, they have a fair bit of say in what goes on.

Leaving this hear, so I remember to get back to it (hopefully). Looking at the addiction rates, my guess is there is a correlation between addiction and economic health. I don't know much about the economic health over time in the US, or statistics for that matter, but depending how the define "addiction" people might

I bet they have a higher option for storage. They have 16 and 32GB options for the current Nexus. I'd love the option to save 100 bucks and give up 8GB, I use little to no storage on mine.

I'd wait for the new Nexus, simply to see the dust settle. At that point the next major phone release for either operating system should be months out, with all major manufacturers (Apple, Samsung, LG, Motorola, Nexus Line, HTC, etc) having their options on the market. Then you can pick from every phone out there, and

I'm curious, how does it send it to the other operator? Internet? Is there a central registry of all operators, or is it ad hoc?

I'm don't truly agree with the entire idea either. You were sort of asking for advantages of SMS over iMessage, so I made an argument for it. I still find it creepy that one person holds the keys to the iMessage castle. (in BBM, both carrier and RIM have to be in on it to allow people to read messages) I'm not sure

Well, there isn't a hell of a lot to go by on either side. But I do logically thing that Apple may have shared these keys with repressive governments, or may allow them access under certain conditions. My reasoning is that iMessage is not banned. BBM sort of paved the road for this. I think repressive governments

Do what I did. Sell the iPad used when the new one comes out. It cost me like $150 to go from an iPad 1 (gifted) to an iPad 2. People are silly and you can get an absurd amount of money for a used previous gen iPad, and it also helps that you don't have to charge sales tax.

The problem as I see it is that these unencrypted messages over SMS have legal security built into them. Generally if you want a copy of (as a government) of someone's text messages, you have to go through some form of legal proceedings. If you want to listen in on text messages (as a hacker), you have to catch them

It was, and then it came out that someone screwed up the science and they were wrong.

You could try jailbreaking it and installing the app from another source. There isn't a lack of alternative app installation sources.

It works fine with multi monitors, it just treats it as just one really wide monitor.

Their math is correctish. To lose, you would need to lose 11 times or more. The probability of losing once is 4/9. The probability of losing 11 times thus (4/9)^11. (4/9)^11 = 0.0001. If you don't lose you win. Thus, the probability of not losing by exactly 11 trials is 1 - (4/9)^ 11 or 0.999. However, you can still

"—up to double the size they claiml."

Now it might be alright :P I get annoyed when paid apps don't update as quick as they should too.

Could be Apple. Sometimes I've had free apps hit the Store before the paid ones did. Not common, but I wouldn't blame TWC yet.
