If you want to know how easy it was for ProJared to manipulate young people, check out the champions in this thread who didn’t get the joke.

I get that previously it was required to be employed at Riot, but no one is required to work there.”

I assume there’s plenty of jobs out there that don’t force arbitration”

Your mom told me the same about you.

I mean, if you’re really going to Obsidian as your metric for “good” writing, I’m not sure what to tell you.

Also: I never said RDR was well-written—I just put it a level or two above GTA.  That’s relative positioning without establishing the scale. ;)

It’s OK for you to disagree. I just felt like, for every fun combat section, there was twenty minutes of movie-quality story. Which I LOVED, but not for $60. It was closer to something I’d want to pay $10 to watch (or more realistically, rent) than $60 to own and play once.

Non-binary is bullshit. it’s another stupid made up group of people who are too narcissistic to be happy with just being a person. You have to invent a group so you can feel special. It’s just a girl. A decidedly well playing girl at that. Good for her.

Influencers are a vital component of modern-day marketing and no product can survive without having a good influencer marketing strategy.

While all this is funny, and allows for some levity during a debate where people on either side have dug in their heels hard, you have to wonder what it must be like for the person who kicked it all off, now getting resoundly dunked on across the web.

Game developers getting 18% more of your money is a huge benefit to the customer: The game developer can invest more in the games you love, and has less incentive to depend on trashy DLC models.

Nothing justifies a death threat, or any threat really.

Thank you; none of the man-babies crying about these Epic deals has even the most rudimentary concept of basic economics. 30% is sheer larceny; after years of this pathetic rent-seeking behavior, Valve has all but got down on their knees and begged for a competitor to come along and take their lunch. Maybe after

To me, this feels like the definition of increased competition. Publishers are the customers here, and Epic is only getting exclusive deals because they have a more competitive offering: taking a lower cut of revenue (12% vs. 30%). Publishers would not agree to exclusivity if Epic was offering the same old 70/30

There’s a difference between a mountain and a man-made thing, though. If they were to build the Washington Monument today without an elevator because they wanted to symbolize the difficult ordeal of becoming a country or whatever, and make it an accomplishment to get to the top, that would be unacceptable.

Hi,

Amen. And many of those people who want to play the game on Easy mode would be more than happy to try a more difficult playthrough. This masturbatory gatekeeping is helping absolutely nobody.

Not to be overly harsh, but if a game is causing you physical pain every time you play it, maybe it’s time to find something else.

That *is* harsh though because you’re all but asking players with disabilities to go elsewhere. In this example, an easy mode or even a series of toggles that allow players to customize game experiences is about allowing them to participate in that experience. It’s inclusive, and not in the dime-store way that word is

These articles, while absolutely incredible, all become depressingly similar after a while. And again, I don’t mean that as a knock on you, because I love your work and look forward to your deep inside looks.
