No, deep-south Southerners (i.e. Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi) do not consider Texas the South. In fact, we generally don't like Texans (football) and Florida (cause well, it's Florida). And on my last trip to Texas, I was shocked at the amount of racism that freely flowed from the mouths that were around me.

Yes. Hank, Walt White's DEA brother-in law on Breaking Bad, is a version of Tony Sopran0, power paunch and all.

Buy some Borax laundry detergent and mix with sugar. Then line the walls with the mixture, especially where the insects are entering. I used this during a roach infestation while living at my old apartment. The borax sticks to the insects' legs and dries out their exoskeleton. Here's a link.

I have a bit of BPD, PTSD going on and it took me forever to find a therapist who could help me—at least, nine years of searching. It took a year to find a doctor who would listen to me about the physical symptoms of my anxiety. I hope you are able to find one too. Don't give up the fight! You will find someone, if

I can feel your desperation in your writing. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I have the same background with my mother, as far as moving back in to my childhood home a few times in my adult life and the decay of the house, which is really just a sad reflection of our relationship. As you know, it isn't easy.

I agree. My dad is dead. It was a complicated relationship. If I ever get married, I suppose I'll use my half-brother or just walk the aisle solo.

Yes!!! to the overdoing things. The movies and tv shows never get our accents right! Of course, the accents differ from area to area. Like, mine is more country than his. Tennessee's is a bit "twangier" than Alabama's, if that makes sense. Reese Witherspoon is an actress from Tennessee. In the movie, Sweet Home Alabama

Yes. "R" sounds are pronounced kind of like with a "ur" sound. Bird would be pronounced "Burd." Rehearsal would be like "Re-hursal" with a long, drawn out "hur." I hope that makes since. Listen to this guy. He's from Nashville. Now "Trisha" obviously wouldn't have that "ur" sound.

I'm sorry you are dealing with difficult parents. It is very painful to feel as if your parents aren't looking out for your best interests or giving you the love you need. My parents divorced when I was three. They (along with my stepmom) fought bitterly until I was 19. I grew up with my mom. I didn't even see my dad

Ok, I think I got it. That was very helpful. Thank you very much for the reply!

I was just asking a fellow Jezzie about this. I don't get this new system at all. I've been a reader since 2009, way back when you had to be approved. (I had to change my name during one of the redesigns because I couldn't log in at the time.) I know I don't comment that often, but last week my comments were promoted

I have a question maybe you can help me with please. I participated in the open thread last Friday night and all my comments were promoted, therefore not grey anymore. I'm kind of confused tonight because I'm commenting but my comments are still showing up grey and on one of the threads I thought I gave a quality

I worked in dry cleaning for many years while in college. Black cotton is always going to fade to some degree. We always made customers sign a release when they brought in black cotton, especially denim. You can always take them to the cleaners and specifically tell the clerk you want them dry cleaned through the

Hi! I'm from Alabama, but my accent is more country than high class. I found this great website for different kinds of Alabama accents. Also, this video and this video from one of our former Lt. Governors features a wonderful Montgomery accent, that we all consider high class. He pronounces governor like "guv-nah."

On the saying "no" thing to people you don't want to give your number to, I usually just say that I have a boyfriend (which I do), but that I'm flattered they asked. That way you are kind of letting them down gently and you won't feel so bad.

That's what I'm thinking because I'm afraid I'd overdo it with just sprinkling the glitter? What do you think?

Okay. Glad I'm not the only one. My first concert was NKOTB. My mom sold painted shirts to buy me tickets to see them in concert. I was about 9 or 10.

Ooooh, yeah. That's a good one too!

I'm not sure how this works. Maybe you are in a region that is a little more progressive than mine, but I'm streaming it okay.

I agree. I still have "Ironic" on my ipod. Also, do you remember the controversy surrounding her after she won all those grammys for this album?
