@brianhatch: Because in all likelihood, it was from the deck of a Coast Guard ship, which would remind US that as loud BP is getting about how much this is costing them in a stupid effort to act as if they are a victim here, the government is pouring money in as well.

@Kaiser-Machead v.2.1.1: True story, my folks were in town for the afternoon when the Happening had just opened. We wanted to go see a movie while they were in, and had missed the show time for our first choice, so I glanced over and saw the poster for the Happening.

I wish I could remember where I read it, I think it was one of the old anthology series (bunch of authors just shoved into one book because they were 'scifi') I used to buy as a kid.

@lubenthrust: A patent lawyer's, looking to file a patent, scope in determining what could be prior art to the patent in question is going to be far narrower than the same patent lawyer's scope if they are attempting to invalidate a patent.

@mook8515: Patents protect ideas, yes. And if someone else came up with the idea and published it before you, then you can't patent it (it's called prior art).

@Graviton1066: I'd think that picture sums it up pretty well, don't you?

@teh1andonlym0: Then you aren't doing either of them right. ^_^

@WandersFar: Sure, I mean it's cheaper than one of these, right?

@Jason Fitzpatrick: While I agree 100% with your reasoning and am happy that you've both posted this article and defended it, please do be careful in stating what is and isn't illegal.

@heath: Using firefox and it does in fact autoplay, all of howcast video's autoplay. Attempted from several computers all with different versions of firefox installed.

autoplay videos = bad

@SquaredCircle: For the most part, it's 'common knowledge'. As it was big news during the acquisition of Mint by Intuit. They probably do have it on their site as well. I haven't looked for it though.

And just because it comes up about every single time Mint gets discussed here, a reminder to everyone that Mint DOES NOT store your bank account information. They use a third party, Yodlee ([www.yodlee.com] as an intermediary between themselves and the banks.

@Kevin Purdy: Plus it sorta wouldn't fit the whole "What Caffeine Does to your BRAIN" title...

@odonata: Because people read it. After all if Gor ([secure.wikimedia.org] can actually make it to the point where there are 'cults' of Goreans in real life, this certainly isn't the 'worst' of the bunch.
