I see gun violence as a consequence of larger societal issues as opposed to the root of the problem. Restrictive laws and outright band will not solve the problem. Very much like trying to solve drunk driving by outlawing automobiles. Having live in all types of neighborhood from very safe to outright warzone, crime…

I think it’s a fairly safe statement that if you don’t want to increase your chances of being shot, don’t hang out with or be a part of a gang.

When the same small group of people is responsible for all the shooting and nobody in the community will stand up and help put them behind bars, why would anyone think that anything will change?
