So with you on the "this is bullshit" response. If anything, customer support abroad is trained to be scrupulously non-offensive. And I used to see grammar like this when I was teaching in good old America.

She's getting trashed on Twitter. ETA: It's actually pretty weird. Pretty brutal tweets interspersed with publicist pablum. "Who booked the tone deaf singer?" "Get the [song title] on itunes!"
From the lead, "Join us as we pray for hilarity from host Daniel Radcliffe and the musical stylings of Lana Del Rey," I thought we'd also get hilarity from LDR (who i'd never heard of), but I just haz a sad.
God help us—What's 'gangsta Nancy Sinatra'? She needs to fire her publicist for writing that shit.
This pesky left hand, what do I do with it?
Glenda Okones sounds just like my boss. It's freaking me out a bit.
same here.
I can't believe a neighbor dropped by the one Saturday I decide to watch SNL and lurk on the live thread. What did I miss?
I didn't say it felt like you were supporting her racism because I thought using a different sign would be OK (she's a racist no matter which tactic she uses); it feels like you are supporting racism because you jumped to "OMG, Private property—govt. should stay out" as a screen from talking about what the woman was…
Shit, I meant "no more than she is."
That's what I've always assumed, but then I had a coworker who lived with a guy for five years—they broke up 4 months after they actually got married. I've often wondered what was so different.
Thank you so much for saying this— all of these commenters posting about how "late" they were in losing their virginity at 21/22 were making feel quite freakish about my late start.
Margaret Cho, I hope you are reading this, because you are supremely awesome.
I'm not at all surprised. I often vacation with my family and until about ten years ago, it was a running joke to take bets on how soon whites would leave the hotel pool after we got there—btw, we ALWAYS shower before going in. We've even had parents shoo their kids away from kids in our group.
It feels like you are kind of supporting the woman's racism, particularly when you put "civil rights committee" in quotes as if state Civil Rights Commissions are some made up thing.
because Black/Hispanic people are arrested/overcharged/given extreme sentences by the criminal "justice" system in higher numbers than white men i and there is increasing reluctance by elected officials to expunge records or grant pardons even in clear cases of innocence or judicial misconduct.
OK, I can't get with that. It's one thing to argue that a child might have a better life if adopted, but to say the Mom is going to burn in hell if she doesn't give her up? Day-um.
I didn't know there were jazz hands in football.
I completely agree with you that people shouldn't get a free pass for bad behavior because of religion. Also I'm pretty much irreligious and think Romney's an asshole. But I think it does make a difference. Just like I think fundamentalists are worse than ordinary practitioners of religion.
I take your point, but Nouvellebabe's comment helped clarify something I wanted to know from this story—which is, does it mean that Romney in his case was more or less extreme than the mainstream of the Mormon faith? I don't want him to be President in either scenario, but there are shades of difference that this…
