In what way do you mean? Because it does essentially everything that these next gen consoles do, minus things like streaming and what not, and of course, the graphics.

Which makes sense, but the Wii U does things that the prior consoles don't, such as multitasking and what not. I think it's something that many people choose to ignore just to bash ninty.

I still don't understand why people don't see the Wii U as next gen. It's the next Generation of a Nintendo console. Quite simple, really.

To me, Next Gen began with the release of Battlefield 4 on PC. It has the graphical fidelity of a next-gen game (though BF3 got pretty darn close) and it came out before the next-gen consoles did. Some would argue Crysis 3 on PC really began it, but something about BF4s animations and textures look better, IMO.

That 1080p your pS3 is showing on screen is upconverted, not native. Xbone will do that as well, so it's funny that a brand new machine is having difficulty doing what was the big deal years ago. Also, the Wii U has a bunch of games that are native 1080p too. Just an FYI.

Mario and Mario kart? The last console kart game sold over 34 million copies in its life span, so I see it moving quite a good number of units. Maybe not 9 million, but I can see it getting up there.

Maybe. A lot of people said the same thing about battlefield, and it sure doesn't seem like it yet. I do want COD to be dethroned from its position in the FPS market.
