This exact scenario is why whenever we are driving on the sections of 395 in D.C. And 95 south of DC, we always take the toll lanes if they’re open, even during the day. Traffic can go from 80 mph to 20 in no time and every time that happens, you can screw up or one of the ten people right around you can screw up and

I have one I bought last year. It’s not easy to control.

This happened to someone in my area a few years back in a police chase. Car was parked legally and an officer lost control at the end of the chase and hit her car. Got stuck in the same spot as they owed more than they said the value was worth. If she was in the car, she could have probably gotten more, but she wa

Technically, he had no other option, there was at least one vehicle in the immediately adjacent lane.

Well, that video probably doesn’t help them that much then as it did show they were negligent by leaving open containers of gasoline around the shop where they could easily spill.

What if the guy was never told anything about gasoline or about vapors?

You can have multiple causes of an accident. In fact, almost every disaster takes several things to occur, any one of which not happening would, have stopped the chain of events. Yes, the guy should have realized the danger in spilled gas, but an untrained person should not ever have access to gas to spill. The tech

I agree, he should have known, but in the real world of professionally working in hazardous places (and an auto shop is a hazardous place), the onus is on the people running the place to ensure than hazards are dealt with in the proper manner, which includes training of employees, having a hazard mitigation plan, etc.

Yep, it’s as much an indictment of the training provided to the guy as anything.

Exactly. Plus, they should train the guy who cleans a shop to recognize the hazards and what to do in an incident like that.

He probably also didn’t realize the vapors are heavier than air and can spread a long way further than the area of the spill, especially in an open area with a sealed floor like that. You can even see the flame front continue to spread after the local fireball. Seems like a guy who cleans an auto shop should be

I’m not blaming the guy at all. It does sound like he hit the brakes just before impact. However, if I had seen that truck going at the speed he was going 300 feet before the intersection, I’d have taken my foot off the gas and been covering the brakes until I figured out what he was doing.

If I see a giant white truck barelling at a speed that it’s obvious he can’t possibly stop, like this one was, yeah.

No, I’m talking about people with pre-existing conditions.

Seems fair enough for me. I left my glasses in one the other day (had my sunglasses on at the time) and was able to catch him immediately so he hadn’t gone that far on his next Fare. I still gave him 10 bucks cash though.

I’m asssuming the $15 would be collected by Uber up front prior to arranging the delivery, so no issues for the collection from the driver.

When you literally spout taking points, it’s hard to sound credible. Obamacare has issues. One big one is there’s no effort to control costs at all. But insurance was increasing in costs y/y decades before the ACA was a thing. People complained they were not able to afford insurance in the 80s, the 90s and the aughts.

So, what would be better for her to do in your eyes? Just go along with it and not give a shit about the fact that it’s intrusive and harassing? I don’t think she said she was a modern day Rosa Parks. And going by my recollection of history, there were lots of people against institutionalized racism in the 50s as

So far Pence seems to have been better at not writing things down so obviously. He’s been in politics long enough to know better.

Yeah, why would you give up a senate seat to then get hung out to dry like Sessions as soon as you get off Trump’s jock? Couldn’t have happened to a better person than Sessions, but still, not going to instill lots of confidence.
