Imagine the family and friends of the players who may never get another bowl game? Coaching gives dozens of opportunities. Playing gives 1-4 (usually just 1 or 2) opportunities.

It is sad, considering all the higher education cuts a lot of states are going through. When it comes to college athletics, the money could always be spent elsewhere.
