I agree. I coach a club sport, so I've been on the receiving end of a few of these e-mails. Sometimes it's not a good fit. Sometimes an athlete just needs to move on and have another shot with a new coach/system. I thought the dad's e-mail was just fine. My response would have been similarly civil. Something along the

Games already are a false sense of achievement. 'Achievements' in games magnified this. This is going to bring about a false sense of achievement for watching TV? Dear god, the last thing we need is people to feel like they're achieving more by just watching TV.

Achievements can unlock things now? How is this different from unlocking something and getting an achievement for unlocking it, and how is this different from unlocking anything in a video game ever?

I have never gotten the concept of achievements or the trophy system in the gaming systems. :/
