I checked play-asia.com, the standard JP version of the game only costs $6 more ($66) than the standard NA version ($60) through them. However I believe the standard JP version gets the extra music, while NA has to buy the Ultimate edition for $50 more.

If they could get over themselves and their canon/non-canon hangup there are plenty of fighters from the DBZ movies that can be used.

The fact that they are alternate forms of the same character makes them clones, except for Goku Black because of a technicality. Bandai Namco could have just added base Goku/Vegeta and gave them different button combo and requirements to transform in SS or SSG forms.

Why add in a transformation mechanic, when you can use the alternate forms to pad out the roster and avoid adding other characters you would need to create new move sets and animations for?
