The fact that they are alternate forms of the same character makes them clones, except for Goku Black because of a technicality. Bandai Namco could have just added base Goku/Vegeta and gave them different button combo and requirements to transform in SS or SSG forms.

Why add in a transformation mechanic, when you can use the alternate forms to pad out the roster and avoid adding other characters you would need to create new move sets and animations for?
I also noticed that the JP version will allow you to play songs from the various animes as BGM, but of course that feature won’t be available in the other regions releases.

Before when you tried to parry (double jump) while holding down the attack button for charge shot, the game treated it like you let go of the attack button and stopped charging. Now it no longer does so.
