The DLC itself is pointless without you playing as the second player, since the majority of the“special effects” are only visible by them. The final cutscene is decisive and has very little wiggle room for the current storyline to continue.

Don’t play the DLC, just look up the ending scene on YouTube.

The Dead Space 3 DLC pretty much ended the series with it’s final scene. It’s like the Devs knew the franchise was over.

That’s not guaranteed. There have been other games that had a Season Pass, then the developer later claimed that certain future DLC were not part of the pass and had to be purchased separately.
