I need to buy a dashcam, so much sweet shit out there that could be captured.

Definitely digging the “6MT” part.
Is this your car? Agree it looks great but I’ve never understood the rationale behind vanity plates that announce the model. Do like the VA “Don’t Tread on Me” motif though.
Going to try and work “Big Carmax” into conversations for the next few weeks now.
“DAMMIT, the ol’ Ten Commandments License Loophole, he’s got us over a barrel!”
Ah yes, the good ol’ lobbying playbook for the deep-pocketed:
There isn’t a single Toyota I’d consider buying right now, save maybe the Land Cruiser. I just can’t comprehend who is really pulled into a dealership and generally inspired by their lineup. But then again they sell a fuckton of cars so I’m obviously the outlier.
I don’t think I’ve ever watched a GIF that many times in a row.
I was getting at the exponential increases in the scale from one “point” to the next more than anything. Richter better conveys significant differences than a linear scale, like longitudinal G force.
Great point. I remember thinking my WRX wagon was the shit, and getting into a friend’s e60 M5, and being blown away. I can’t imagine performance like the LaF.
I distinctly remember Jeb Bush at some point during his (brief) presidential run say something along the lines of, “I met a Florida woman the other day who told me that the economy is still so bad that she can’t even make her $500/month car payments.” He was trying to knock Obama but something else about that remark…
Aren’t “speed” and “style” the key aspects of a sports car? What priority is being triumphed over - rear seat legroom?
Racism aside, I am sick of negative Yelp reviews that begin with the trite, “If I could give this place ZERO stars I would!!!”.
My buddy accidentally hit the Norwegian prince with a football back in 1996.
Do they have a shot at putting Merkel in one of these or does MB dominate the “vehicle of choice for high-level German officials” market?
My first job in DC was as a driver for a Senator, so I’m especially familiar (a dubious honor) with the pain that comes from driving around this town. I have to say though, based purely on anecdotal accounts, that Maryland drivers are the absolute worst of the locals. Throw them into an environment with bad roads,…
How impartial is this group (and its findings)? IIHS was created by auto insurers - presumably they would love to drop speed limits down to 15mph so no one ever gets in an accident and they don’t have to pay out claims.
“Well that house has a lot of solar panels!”
This is a good point. Clarkson’s reviews are entertaining as hell but work under the assumption that viewers have an unlimited budget and endless patience for annoyances (i.e. major design flaws). And that buyers are as nationalistic as him to blindly buy UK-made products.
