"I was born on this show you merely adopted it"
Trebek: "When I finish this statement you have my permission to buzz..."
I'm calling bullshit on this list on the grounds that it is pathetically under-underexplained. What's with the introductory paragraph? Way to sell out, Underexplained Lists.
I thought the dialogue felt very forced in places, was reaching for meaning and trying far too hard throughout, but I did like some of the gameplay, mostly the sections where you can just explore!
Opposing opinion: I thought that Alan Wake's "light as a weapon" came off as incredibly cliche and it clashed wildly with the story. It also just devolved into a massively hackneyed game mechanic as the game went on.
Any of the classic-era FPS games (Doom, Quake, Dark Forces, Marathon, etc.) have always freaked me out as a kid. Even today when I play them. No other games have ever effected me like those have. I'm not sure if it was just the simpler graphics, or in Marathon and Doom's case, the sprites.
Holy shit I can't believe how biased this is. Biased or subjective, I can't tell. I think the keyword in the entire article occurs here:
"Most sane people would, if given the choice between playing a game using the DualShock 3 or Xbox 360 Controller, would go for Microsoft's pad every time."
Just wait a bit. It will surely drop. Or it'll be on sale on Black Friday or some BOGO sale down the road.
Nah I loved Killzone 2's weighty controls, I don't see why every game should play EXACTLY alike because some people just simply cant deal with change. Its the same with H'n'S games, anyone remember how awesome the combat felt in DMC1? Where every weapon blow was heavy and felt truly crushing with Dante's demonic…
Yeah there is a bit of bad voice work, but the male Witch Doctor is freakin' awesome.
He doesn't even sound old. He sounds like a young person trying to make fun of "old people voice".
Claudia Black = instant win no matter what she does, she has an amazing voice. Covetous Shen, Eirena and Leah were all pretty good. Deckard Cain of course was classic as always. But all the antagonists and player characters and pretty much everyone else were total crap.
Yeah, I'm not sure if it's the actual voices that's the problem, though, or just the delivery. I mean, Diablo's voice was deep and sinister... but flat. In fact, I think that would be my complaint with almost everyone. Just incredibly flat voice work. Like the male Monk, for example.
