I mean, only one of those would kill millions of innocent people, so...

I imagine part if it is that people don’t like the cognitive dissonance of the “bad guys” being a huge part of winning the war.

ETA: Though giving the UK almost as much credit as the USSR seems especially crazy.

Isn’t this just being honest about how America (and most countries, for that matter) has always acted foreign policy wise?

“If you’re European or Canadian then sorry, but the US has had to do most of the heavy lifting to ensure that you can even live in the “civilized world.””

I question this statement. I guess there’s the cold war (though that also involved the US undermining governments chosen by the people in favor of autocrats), but

Unless there’s a way to make the US population way less sexist within a few election cycles, the only options are figure out how to win* despite that sexism, or keep losing. Pointing out that the group that kicked your ass had an unfair advantage, by itself, does nothing to help you kick their ass the next round.

*And

I agree with all of that. But when it comes to winning, it’s on the party (and I think we should focus on the party, rather than Hillary or the details of her campaign) to figure out how to win with the population/media that we actually have, not with one that acts how they morally should.

Talking about how sexism

Sexism was absolutely involved. Did the Dems have good reason to think she could overcome it and win?

I don’t think we should focus on Hillary, but losing basically every part of government to the opposition does warrant self-criticism, unless you just want to write off the general populace as garbage.

I dunno, maybe she’s perfectly articulate in Slovene.

I would assume she can at least speak Slovene in addition to English. It would be pretty weird for her to grow up where she did and only know English.

Does anyone particularly want Melania to be involved?

Yeah, I should have clarified. I don’t get why the original use of “nu-” caught on as a thing.

True, and I certainly know that some women are convinced every lesbian must want to get in their pants.

I thought they were tying it in with the broader use of “nu-” as a derivative of “new”.

As utterly bullshit the justifications for male homophobia are, I understand it in women even less, since there’s typically not the sexual entitlement (“he just needs to the right pussy to fix him”) or the messed up ideas about being penetrated being a shameful thing.

I guess author is applying a blanket “Asian” designation to both?

I’d like to see people’s reactions if every “future of [tech]” photo from now on was 100% (south)east-Asian people. Wonder if that would increase the “stealing our jobs” panic.

Why is “nu-” a thing?

Better or worse than hijacking “hacking” to apply to things like over-stuffing Chipotle burritos?

Random thought from watching the assholes:

Wow! I didn’t get that until just now.
