Certainly haven't had that kind of experience with my 300s. I checked every box including hemi and awd (nearly essential for the kind of driving I do) and still got it home all in for less than 50 cdn.
There is no need to reduce fuel consumption. With frac and oilsands extraction technology unlocking literally trillions of barrels of oil globally and several multiples worth of that of natural gas we are on the verge of the greatest bear market in oils history. Natural gas has already entered that territory.

Are you referring to the first gen 300c or the second gen? I have owned both and can attest that the second gen interiors are vastly improved over the first edition. And the sight lines out are much better too.
By the late eighties much of what made citroens different was no longer present in Citroens of that era.
