I have heard that they use poor grammar on purpose to winnow out people who are too savvy to go all the way with their scam. Folks who hear alarm bells when they read terrible English are folks that the scammers don’t want to waste their time on.

I find it odd that the court can sentence someone to x years in a mental institution. If we agree that their presence there is meant to be therapeutic, rather than punitive, shouldn’t they just be there until medical professionals deem them ‘healthy’ and the confinement no longer necessary?
