What are you talking about? The PS3 supported 1080p, and the 360 eventually did as well. Most games on last gen didn't render natively at 1080p and were upscaled of course, but the 360 couldn't even do that initially.

FYI, in case anyone has forgotten: the 360 wasn't even capable of outputing 1080p (upscaled or otherwise) in its initial release. So again, yes, this is nothing but launch woes. Long term I doubt this will be a significant problem with the xbone.
