I've said it before and I'll say it again, Techlands entire marketing strategy for Dead Island has been built on bait-and-switch false advertising.

I can't find anywhere in the interview where he specifically states this is a multiplayer only concern, and I really can't think of any FPS multiplayer mode (not co-op) in any game which has civilians in it. I'm pretty sure he was saying this as a general statement of both multiplayer and single player...but mostly…
Read the full interview, the games producer goes on to say ""That doesn’t mean that I don’t want people to feel that war is not good,… We are trying to do something that is more mature. Mature not being gore –some people confuse the two. That’s childish actually, to want more blood.""
IMO This is a step -away- from maturity, maturity would be including civilians, as they do exist on urban battlefields, and making you deal with the consequences. Immaturity sounds a lot like "Two groups of men, shoot anything that moves that isn't on your team of men"
Honestly I would say that Metro33 is this generations Crysis - Both offer a new(ish) brand of DirectX, both were highly under optimized, both struggled under the high-end tech of their day to reach maximum graphics levels...thus making it very good for benchmarks.
And with the synchronization of a professional dance troupe, the internet did let out a sigh, one that shall *not* be passed down the generations as legend, as the unison did sigh "Meh."
Christ, sometimes I am embarrassed to be on the internet. Is everyone seriously queefing over the fact he put "Coming eventually" rather than "Coming soon"? How eccentric and edgy! Same goes for the article's description of "Crazy" notch. -facepalm-
This only cost $250-$500 if a lot of people with a lot of equipment were putting in a lot of things for free.
I thought the original had a budget of $500? As reported in the original article you wrote on this film series?
Ah, the mixing of two inexplicably, absurdly popular, games; I now eagerly await "Call of Battlefield".
Eat me, Michael Fahey. Perhaps you'd like to explain how Mass Effect 2, an apparently "Dumb" game, is almost certainly going to get the same or better average critic review scores? Perhaps you could make another quaint little graph to show it, hm?
Without there being a very good "Standard" for air flow I can't really say, Both have decent air flow (according to numerous reviews).
I'm in the middle of constructing a new Computer (in my imagination at the moment) and Today I found myself torn between the NZXT Phantom (black) and the Thermaltake Chaser MK-1. After an hour or so of not being able to decide I come to Kotaku for more gaming news and-OMG THERE'S AN NZXT PHANTOM RIGHT THERE ON THE…
Oh, also, (and i hope people see this) It was CONFIRMED by the UK Forum Manager over at ubisofts forums (as of June 14 2011) that this game has NOT been canceled and is still under development.
I swear with all the shovel-ware Ubi makes, considering just how unique and intriguing this new IP is, they had better make this game happen! I WILL GIVE YOU MY MONEY UBISOFT, JUST GIVE ME THIS BLEAK, TENSE, UNIQUE SURVIVAL GAME.
Christ this game is dark.
RPG fans can be, infamously, resistant to change; Take away their statistical dice rolling and time-tested mechanics and they will throw a hissy fit.
Trust a billionaire to come up with this kind of solution
Right, off the bat you're already coming off as just an atypical "I H8 COD" guy who hasn't really looked at what I said but you saw an opportunity to hate on COD so instinct took over.
Am I the only one that finds this game to look bland as hell? It looks alright, it seems to play alright, and it is a sci-fi fps...and that seems to be it. Is there a story that isn't just an incidental carrot on a stick? Are there characters for me to care about? or is it just -
