CF is notoriously bad in a crash. It can be made to withstand impact pretty easily. The down side is it is elastic, so it will return all the energy put into deforming it into returning to its original shape (if it doesn't shatter). This sounds good, up until you consider the human in the vehicle. After being brought

How long until people start putting that pattern on their BMWs?

It's coming to the American market. It'll gain weight around the mid section, just like average American driver.

I had this car 20 years ago. Except, mine had windows which were 1/2 the door, and front and rear were the same size, and I could see out the back. What gives with the ever shrinking windows? In 20 more years, will we have them at all? What will we put our arms on, on a nice day?

Despite their 30% efficiency commitment, they come out swinging with a "... 157-horsepower 2.5l ..." I distinctly remember owning a 160HP 2.4L 2000 Eclipse... 12 years ago. Someone tell me how this is progress?

Why are we doing police work. Aren't there police funded by taxes for that. Asking for people to be on the lookout is one thing, but to ID a car? Come on.

Ah, the vanagon! I've seen those go though mud holes that got pickups stuck. My dad also had me drive one in the snow, on my learner's permit to get used to snow driving. They are surprisingly unstoppable having the engine over the rear wheels. Like a stetched Porsche.

@PDXRover: Yes I would like to see the IH Scout III reach production as well.

@two wheels are enough: It is supposed to increade power to the wheels. I never noticed much. It was hard to get past it always being on the verge of stalling out. Or, sitting at a light vibrating. Sure raising the idle would fix it, but you're better off buying a bigger engine.

@hookedoncars: Where is the transfer case lever? It'd be a bummer if it was only 2wd.

@hookedoncars: I'd buy it and import it as a street rod.

@two wheels are enough: It'll stall easier. And my idle was lumpier. I put a 2G fidanza on my 3G eclipse. All in all I do not recommend. But note aluminum is stronger than steel.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the IH Traveler and Scout. Seats 4, and the top comes off. This restoration is on the market at $13k, but you can pick them up for much, much less.

Drunk Driving laws are only enforceable on public roads... You don't need a license to drive on your own farm, you don't have sobriety laws on your own farm. The only thing these people are guilty of is destruction of property, theft, and trespassing, oh and being stupid.

I would have like to have seen it set to Zero Sum by NIN.

It doesn't matter Matt, vehicles can be repaired, replaced. Human life cannot. There's no insurance company that can replace the person you lost to your own or someone else's negligence.

Well I've got one in my 01 M3... and everyone hates the sound. Something about the US spec exhaust. It is raspy as hell. I put another resonator in it to cut down on it (and it was very effective). You don't hear it when you're driving, but from behind you do. I love the engine, but the US exhaust note needs work.

@Engineerman: They would not have stopped air traffic for a helicopter. But it does look that. Perhaps the pilot that reported it is in on the hoax?

The real motorcycle will melt the fudge he packed.
