May I suggest a three column system:
The competition is against the game, not each other... or you’re doing it wrong. Everyone wants someone else to get a lower time and develop new techniques/strategies so they themselves can get a lower time. Of all the gaming communities you can point to, speedrunners tend to be the least toxic.
