I dunno about the “callbacks making it bad” argument to be honest.

I can respect it. Though I do feel people are too harsh on Mando these days cuz populaRRRRR and all that.
Fair points.
Hey, here’s me, a person who really didn’t like Rogue One.
As someone else said in reply to this comment over on AV Club, that officer definitely gives off Arnold Rimmer vibes, lol!
If Mando is an 8 and Fett is a 3, Kenobi’s about a 6 or a 7 depending on how much you’re willing to just roll with it, and Andor is too early to tell but certainly feels fresh and unlike those other shows so it’s got potential to be another 8 or higher.
Why dang? It’s certainly fresh feeling and it’s laid decentish groundwork so far, isn’t that what you wanted?
Eh, Rogue One just felt like bad fanservice hiding under a Halo Reach (game) beat-for-beat plot, with an occasional good bit of directing or performance work.
I’m surprised at the aggressive responses I’m getting here, y’all people need a chill pill. I didn’t even say anything controversial.
Honey all I said was I don’t understand hatemongers nor people that protect them.
I have! My older sibling goes by they/them and they’re pretty cool. They’ve a doctorate in philosophy and they help a lot of people with writing (both academic writings and fictional writings). They also do a fair bit of political activism to try and help persuade more people to vote and to vote for non hatemongering…
That is one hilarious gif.
I truly do not understand hatemongers. Nor the people that protect them.
Hmm, not sure I think that’s the biggest problem when it comes to Star Wars directors.
Me when Spider-Man comes to PC: “That’s neat but I’m happy having played it through on PS4, hope others enjoy it.”
Better yet, shoot all the racists, right wing voters, rapists, bigots, minority abusers, equality haters, and empathy lackers instead!
I liked Ocelote as a player way back before he quit to found G2 and stuff, but there was one stream many years ago where he said some misogynistic kind of trashtalk and it was at that point I just unfollowed the twitch channel and moved on with my life thinking him just another dumb boy that sadly doesn’t know any…
There are theoretically valid reasons for having a “woman King” instead of a Queen. One of my favourites is a story where it turns out King Arthur was a woman, but those in power hid that fact both during and after her reign because they didn’t think people would rally behind her if they knew she was a woman (and also…
I think that’d be the most appropriate (and fun) way of doing it. But given the egos of big name western actors, would they be willing? Or would they be demanding more “meaningful” roles?
I’m imagining it a lot like the 50th Anniversary Dr Who special now and I WANTS IT!
