I’ve never been the most patriotical Brit (lol if that’s actually a word), but it’s odd hearing this news. The woman’s been my only Monarch since birth, it often felt like she’d be Queen til well after my death too.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a single interaction with the man, but I still appreciated him. He seemed cool and I’m sad to see him go, hope he enjoyed his life and got to achieve the things he wanted to!
Reading that Overton was responsible for the cold open (which I LOVE)... I was already impressed with her contributions (the ones that I knew of) to the show before, but damn, that sounds like such an arc-1 saving move right there, I can’t imagine it with Silco’s drowning monologue as the opener, that just wouldn’t…
Just saw it today and can’t remember a time I saw a better movie?
Finally saw it myself today and can confirm I cried A LOT!
Don’t think I’ve seen a better explanation for what logically should be the requirements for each of the Re___ definitions. Well written.
That is a pretty darn great name.
Maybe one day I’ll give it a try. For now though, I’m super burned out on bothering with Kurtzman Trek and anything related to it. I’ve heard good things about the cartoon too. But oof Picard was just so so so bad lol.
I think they fought the RUNAWAYS once? This is one of the first times I think I’ve recognised an MCU thing from the time I read a Marvel comic (I haven’t read many) lol. Was a bit of an “oh snap I think I actually know these guys?!” moment.
It’s definitely one of the things I really loved about The Sandman. That show felt more like one longform of multiple-storytelling (the comic book presumably) being translated into another longform of multiple-storytelling (the TV show).
Haven’t looked up spoilers, but if that’s so then that’s definitely wild!
I like the whole notion of trying-to-hold-Wong-accountable for stuff like that lol. His just “I must depart now” (or whatever he said) moment demonstrated just how wild it must be to try and hold anyone accountable for stuff in the MCU now that it’s gotten so big and comic-booky.
It worked like that for the reverse kinds of people too (those that DID like the 2006 Prey, given all its unique game mechanics and stuff). In my experience those people avoided this game because they knew it had nothing to do with the Prey they liked.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that was my take away too. It was hardly the most unique story (up until that ending), but the main character writing was pretty good and those best-hits-of-zombie-lit moments were fun to play at least.
I’ve still not got round to playing the second game yet (maybe when it’s on PC one day), but that’s sad to hear. I felt the first tread the line pretty well. Ty Bruce if your theory is correct then!
Cannibals are pretty common, desperation too, though I don’t remember any rape scenes or near-rape, that WOULD have resorted in me maybe saying yeah it’s a pretty dark (I’m not a fan of rape, nor do I think anyone who isn’t having fun with sex roleplay and/or porn fantasies should be).
Granted it’s been (9?!) years since I played it, but it was hardly the darkest and most bleak tale out there.
Me as a kid: “One day, I’m going to own every game console made.”
Such a waste that they wrote off a fan favourite hero in 2 minutes, to then replace her with a no name crazy villain for the MCU P(hase)4.
