I don't know if was so much as opposed to the fact that Secret Life was a horrible show. That repetitive, preachy dialogue used to grate my nerves. There was no way for even an A list actor to make that good. I also tuned out after season 2, but came back for the series finale which was just as bad as I expected.
Shailene has come a looooong way from The Secret Life of An American Teenager, (a show I'm still ashamed to say I watched, I blame my teenager cousin!)
Throughout, the whole thread, she just displayed her ignorance. She was pretty much ignorant about the topic of black hair, but kept trying tho push her point of it being wrong.
It seemed like she felt like, why are you women using my people's hair? Why are you trying to be like us? But as you said, black hair runs the…
Yep. They've done write-ups about him on Jezebel before. His wife also gets in on the action.
Ahh, I see.
And comments like that one is the reason why I just couldn't get worked up about the bruhaha over Jason Biggs and his wife's baby controversy. He's a racist dick.
Couldn't they have used evades or is the word escapes always used in this context? I don't know, I think escapes was used intentionally.
You know she's going to tell her friends about this later and it's going to be all about the angry black women who attacked her for stating her opinion on our hair? LOL
Thank you!!! That " I don't buy it" comment was it for me. There's no discussion with her. She's already formed her opinion on something she has no knowledge about and is not about to change it.
So why are you so offended by their choices? Is it the fact that they are trying to "imitate Indians & whites" as you put it, being Indian yourself? There are many reasons why black women do the things they do to their hair, a lot of history involved. I don't think you're in any position to pass judgement.
You know my hair is chemically treated, and my sister's is natural, so we have discussions about hair a lot. I don't know if you're black, I can only assume, but you sound like the natural hair girls she tells me about on youtube or blogs who look down their noses at people like me. Doesn't matter what side you're…
No, not really. Usually the ladies tell all is usually an hour of bickering amongst the women themselves. There may have been one person who would confront the bachelor about being rejected. This is the first time you had pretty much all of them ganging up against him, and I haven't really been watching either,…
You're right! I remember those dance gap ads from a year or two ago. Now I can't unsee it.
Tell us how you REALLY feel, geesh.
The third Hemsworth brother is Luke, btw. He was kinda ignored in the pic.
I definitely agree on your last point. Where and when exactly were they going to have those deep conversations? The contestants and bachelors/bachelorettes, are usually limited to the " I don't know what it is, but I can see myself spending the rest of my life with him" convos.
Well, actually the opera singer left him a few weeks ago, but the difference was her reason. She took the, "It's not you, it's me" route. Andi straight up told him he was a self-absorbed douchebag.
