The Model S was originally called something like "White Star" (boy, that's ironic), and was penned by Fisker himself. I don't believe the story that it was entirely restyled, nor that Fisker was substandard in his work. It looks too much like the Karma for me to believe either of Tesla's statements about that.

Tesla's never had a shortage of outlets willing to treat their press releases as news articles. In a related note, never use the word "can't" when describing something bad. You'll always be proven wrong, either by accident or someone more determined.
