The Dymaxion's Achilles Heel? Rear-wheel steering that worked counter to the direction the wheel was turned. Rear steering makes for odd handling, and reversed controls need no further explanation after yesterday's afternoon post on the matter.

Nice price with the assumption that it's disposable. If you get to drive it for a year and a half then you did well. If not, what did you expect? That timing arrangement has money written all over it. For all its troubles about 2 years ago, I have to say that my Cadillac provides FWD based 32 valve adventures with

Considering I have a better view of Kia and Hyundai than I do of VW, I hope they don't try too hard at that. If someone asked me to drive a Jetta or Optima cross-country and asked which I expected to finish without problems, it wouldn't be the Volkswagen.

Not a bit. People die. Every single one of us. I'd rather there be a few tragic deaths of great, talented people like Wheldon than for there to be no racing or racing that isn't worth watching. Shouldn't there be a way for the talented to have the glory of these race wins? I'm Wheldon's age, but I can't do that.

That was it, but the local station had said it was Wheldon's. He had been source of in-car shots for ABC just before that, so I didn't see reason to doubt it at the time. Power is a lucky man.

It's not about fun. In this kind of car, it's more like a necessity.

My local station showed the in-car view from Wheldon's car last night, and I'd imagine that taking him to the hospital was a mere formality. The last it showed before blanking out, the car was airborne and moving through a black cloud of smoke and flame sideways. There's no telling what happened to it after that.

I had to vote NP, but only with the understanding that something more useful deserves to be under that hood. I would imagine it's a nice ride, though. It's wheelbase is 6 inches longer than my Cadillac's, and 6 inches is a lot of wheelbase.

A terribly unfortunate accident reminds us all at once both the danger and glory of motorsports. Wheldon was the real deal. RIP.

T-birds were RWD. Story fail.

Ford needs to take advantage of the fact that its employees are part owners of GM and Chrysler to bust up its union. When your employees have a vested interest in your competitors doing well, that's a good time to consider what you can do to remedy that.

Ugh, and that one don't look nice.

I wouldn't pay half that.
