My family lives on another continent and making friends in LA is super hard. Plus I’m poor and worried…

My cat will tolerate my husband carrying her around, but has less patience with me.

I’ve had my rescue kitten since she was 5 months old. Had only owned dogs, never cats before. I was in college raising her with 0 help from any previous cat owners... she was held like this all the time since it felt most natural to me. Now she purrs like crazy when I do it.

Yeah, a “please” would be the exception. I remember holding my old cat on his back, him putting his paw on my face, and then extending his claws just enough.

They’re never subtle either, like if they could talk it would come out like “Ok enough. Put me down please. Now.”

In my decades of owning cats I’ve never had one that would not let me know instantly when it doesn’t like how its being held.

We just put our baby kitty to sleep today :( Actually, she was not a baby, she was 16. It was time (probably liver failure). She was a sweetie and partially blind all her life, and also very petite. She did not like being held whatsoever but she was so up for cuddling that we pretty much just called her "couch buddy"…
