The engines weren't terribly good in the first place, given. But when pre-emissions 298s were making ~200hp in non-HiPo trim and mid-late 70's 302s were rated at about 140hp, it becomes pretty obvious how emissions standards sucked the life out of cars in that era.

Movies don't get it right: Unsurprised.

#5: Turbocharging alone can help. Done right, it can reduce pumping losses. The gain isn't drastic, but it is possible. It also requires you to not bury the go-pedal at every opportunity, a temptation I wouldn't be able to resist.

Diesel or not, an Isuzu engine in a Mustang is sacrilege.

With the way it shot off the line, I wouldn't doubt that it make 3000 ft-lbs of torque.

My guess would be barrel roll

Perhaps we've been looking at things wrong. The answer isn't always Miata, it's Interceptor.

Good to see people remembering the past. Sometimes we're too quick to sweep things that have happened under the rug.

Good to know. I figured upgrading the 4-link would put me about where I want to be: a strong street-car that's equally comfortable in the corners as it is on the dragstrip.

I'm jealous. Your notch looks great with good mods to boot.

I'm giving mine a 3G alt upgrade and a 70mm MAF sensor for a birthday present.

When they say this new Lamborghini is hot, they mean it.

Seriously, up until today the only thing I knew about that pattern(if you can call it that) is that apparently d-bags like to put it on their stuff.

I never knew what that was until today. Can it be that "famous" of a mark?

I only need one.

Actually, that's the damage sustained from hitting the hedgehog. Supercars are fragile.

Opinions vary, but by my metric, pony cars are a subset of muscle car.

Possibly a fluke in the variable valve timing or torque management. Which could be corrected with a tune. Could also be a product of being on the dyno.
