Unfortunately most of the country was asleep during this game, so I see the parallel with soccer.

"It was so sad to see the hopelessness in their faces, and know that they are never going to be okay," said Johnny, age eight.
"Oh wow. Must suck for the offense when the league makes an arbitrary rule that makes your job that much harder. (wanking motion)"- Every defender in the league.
he's not diving into the end zone in his own accord. He just happened to be near the goal line while FALLING as he's catching it
LOL, he went up and barely has it in hand on the way to the ground, where he loses it. Again, it's cut and dry. It's not even close.
It's clear. You have to maintain possession all the way to the ground for a catch. It sounds like you're just not that smart.
"Her quotation marks on "athlete exploitation" are telling. It seems she thinks it's a ruse, the kind of things you put air quotes around to show it's bogus, as if the idea that athletes might earn more in a market than they currently do is inconceivable."
She had her back done.
I would call them clowns, but if they were they might actually be able to figure this one out.
I really don't think that posting a photo of her with her husband in his dress blues, is really appropriate when her alleged killer is also in the military. It's going to unfairly link this poor man, who has already lost his wife and what might have been their baby, with the killer.
Kinja engineers are working on a solution to prevent this happening again.
Police are not required to read you your rights when you're arrested.
The whole ruling is farcical, and all it does is open up room for more challenges. When she arbitrarily set the amount for colleges to give at 5k, yet, admitted that athletes deserve to be be paid because of their true worth, she undermined her own ruling and fucked everything up.
This is allllll fucked now.
My point is the author cites this case for the proposition that Title IX expressly allows inequality in pay. That's not what the case says at it relates to title IX.
I don't think any reasonable person has suggested that the ruling itself conflicts with Title IX. Rather, when people bring up Title IX, they are pointing out that schools will have to not only pay the money the ruling forces them to pay, but make changes to their sports financing structure in order to remain…
Stanley v. USC does not address Title IX.
Not really fair to compare this to an NBA dunk contest. Having participants that are only very good at one part of the game, but aren't good enough at any other to compete in the sport at a professional level in the contest would be ridiculous.
Sigh. I'm sure it makes you feel pretty smart to believe that you understand Title IX and that anyone who disagrees with your understanding is just parroting talk radio, but it's not a very good look for you.
I've never understood why unions are such pariahs in the States. The paid vacation, five day week, fair wages and benefits would disappear if unions or the threat of collective bargaining did not exist. Unionization in the fast food industry would make the most radical improvements for workers and consumers. But we…
