It seems that my memory failed me, though not completely without reason. Robby does appear in Lost in Space, but he is not the Robot that people usually associate with that show, in spite of the obvious similarities.

Robbie the Robot was in Forbidden Planet but was not to same Robot as the one in Lost In Space but yeah they both probably helped inspire R2 and 3-PO.

I clicked an article about the best Star Wars game. Now I’m confused, because said article wasn’t about TIE Fighter.

I’ll also cast my vote for TIE Fighter, although I’ll admit I haven’t played anywhere even close to all the Star Wars games out there.
