Yeah, not buying it. The mod gave me stable FPS throughout all ranges of activity. I couldn't play it before the mod unless I wanted fluctuations between 20~40 FPS for no good reason.

That's terrible! No, I didn't lose access to anything except for my PS3 version of Battlefield: BC 2, which is fine, since I don't have a PS3 anymore. All of my PC games were allowed to merger, I was just warned that progress (such as savegames or progress in Battlefield: BC 2) would be lost.

I think UPlay only exists because Ubisoft didn't trust Steam's DRM, and they had a huge backlash over their always-online DRM. Thus, they said they would try to make things better for PC Gamers, and after the tides calmed a bit, BAM, UPlay.

Man, you lucked out. I hit a snag because the reps didn't realize that "...@yaho.com" was a typo and that, no, I wouldn't get the verification email sent to that address. But after that, it was definitely smooth sailing.

I think that EA needs to work on its customer support. I contacted them for a simple issue and the representative just stopped responding to me in live chat. I then had to repeat an hour of the same exact thing (it's like they're a hivemind - the SAME responses) to another representative with a different name.

As a tip, the game plays much better on controller - it actually seems that it was designed around that. The camera and car handling are a lot more reasonable. I still end up killing tons of pedestrians because braking / drifting is unreasonable, however.

Could finally start playing this again once I got an Nvidia card. Played a few hours, got bored.

The best part about this mod is that I can actually play the game now without terrible stuttering and overall poor performance.

While I agree that it's another cliche "revenge for characters you don't care for" story, I'm having fun with the side missions. Escaping from gangsters / police really brings out the genius in the game.
