The ones who turn it into a business are confidence artists, and there are lots of desperate and greedy fools out there for them to prey upon.

That van certainly reminds me of those e-mail scams we've all seen, which use deliberate misspelling and cartoonishly ridiculous lines to screen out any potential sucker with intelligence, education, or standards. Con artists/PUAs prefer easy marks and don't need the hassle of victims who might ask questions.
