I think your problem with the term “original” comes from a pretty distinct definition of the word. I don’t mean original as in “coming out completely new, with no influences or predecessors.” which is as you point out, is super rare. That isn’t to say your definition is wrong, but I think that by using that

Man, is it just me, or does Marceline’s exaggerated hips make the age difference between her and Finn that much worse? She’s like a full bodied woman of 25+ (discounting her vampire agelessness, of course) to his 12. Weird.

But like, the cast is completely full of Indiana Jones archtypes. Nothing about it is original. Well done, but unoriginal.

For what it’s worth, I think Uncharted 3 is pretty bad for a PS3 game, not just compared to a Uncharted game. Mostly because I’m less impressed with the series as a whole. At it’s best the series is an expertly done version of a pretty unoriginal game. I can admire how well it all works together while still wondering

I want to say the bit about “the set pieces coming first and the plot is written to connect them” didn’t start as a criticism, but an actual quotation from a developer. I’ll have to look it up. It’s just that they did a better job hiding the transitions or picking set pieces that fit more coherently in the first two

Yeah, but didn’t one of the enemies magically not die in that game?

Wait, maybe the attention on Drake is a ruse and he dies in the first hour or so? Maybe? I’d play that game if true.

So, I’m sure I’m in the minority here, as I often am, but I thought Uncharted 3 was really mediocre/bad. Felt like the characters were stuck in neutral and the formula for “come up with set pieces first, then make the story around it” really showed its seams. Worst of all, the plot itself had a huge hole that never

Amusingly, Wikipedia still refers to her as Bruce in the “List of Olympic Decathlon Winners” category. With a note that she changed her name more recently. Then again, wikipedia’s editor base swings white, male and idiotic, so they might just be behind the times.

I’ve seen it twice and I’m not sure what you mean at all. It might have missing parts of an adaptation, but the plot itself is pretty solid, by my recollection.

Spirited Away and Nausicaa being so low are both criminal. CRIMINAL. I also liked Howl’s Moving Castle more than you did, maybe cause it is the only I watched with my GF. Other than that, ok sure.

You know what they say about that guy?

Orphans? Why not call the show Mobile Suit Cliches.

I’m not sure there is a better argument for the need for facial hair for some men than in Kit Harrington.

Psst: PEDs have existed in some form and have been used by athletes for at least a century, if not forever.

Look up SROs and the “School to Prison Pipeline.” It’s fun stuff. Fun...Terrible stuff.

I thought it was kind of clear in my post that I knew why Kotor 2 was rushed >.> What with the line about corporate politics and all...

Ehhh. I’m not a fan of Kotor 1’s story because it feels too much like a rehash of the Star Wars movies. It is well done, and the world building is nice, but the main story is very...typical.

Obsidian is the best. They don’t have the polish of other game companies, and seem to stink at corporate politics, but dammit do their games have good ideas. Kotor 2 is great, despite its rushed released. Had the potential to blow the classic Kotor 1 out of the water.
