Shasta (and a few other places out that way, of which the names are blanking on me) are the west coast version of the 100,000 kids (many in fraternities and sororities!) from the Midwest, MidSouth, South, Northeast and East Coast schools descending on Panama City, Galveston, South Padre Island, & Daytona, etc etc.

I see it all the time in Philly. not trying to be dramatic, but it honestly feels like a gutpunch every time i witness it (as in, an overwhelming “YOU HAVE got to be fucking kidding me you asshole”and a slight loss in hope for what the world is filled with.

have no idea why they wouldn’t have such a policy. $100 credit card deposit that gets refunded on day of departure. make it a part of the paperwork signed on entrance/rental/agreement. you call the office/hosts at least 30 minutes before departure, they come around to give the OK before you leave. if you don’t call…

i also enjoy the show (far from a DVR and watch every episode type, but if it is on with nothing else as an option, i watch)

there absolutely are. while maybe not labeled as such, it has been going on for decades. even the NYTimes did a lengthy piece on while they aren’t called athletic scholarships, huge “grants” are being given specifically to athletes due to their need on that school’s athletic field/courts.

they absolutely offer athletic scholarships...in the form of grant money. It has been going on for decades...and has more recently come out of the shadows (that this goes on). It was even a huge story in the NYT a few years ago. My response to Rowrowroworw details some people I’ve known that got full or partial rides…
