I think you're reading into the content a little far. He said the people buying a car competing with a Corolla, for double the cost, are the idiots. I doubt the potential e-tron customers were a significant part of that market.

I love my e46 330ci! But I only ever got to enjoy having fun in the snow with my old e46 323i back when I lived in Ohio. What great memories, even if it's only been a few years.

There is historical value. Every real car geek knows plenty about it because its a legend. It sort of a cult classic. There will probably never be anything else like it. And someone will always appreciate the love that went into making that car.
