Good point, giving those at the absolute bottom (say $20k and less) a lower tax rate makes sense for that reason. But what about $40k vs $80k? And $80k vs $200k? I feel like that argument of a certain tax rate causing a “crisis” falls apart once you consider those above the poverty line.

Can someone explain to me, without hurling insults like the author, why a flat tax rate is such a terrible idea?

Unless I’m in a professional setting like work I usually go for the hug. If I’m at a party or any kind of social event and I put out a hand the woman usually freezes up for second in confusion.
