It can't be, because I actually understand why this game is fun and enjoyable

I really wish LOTRO repackaged it as a solo non-online game. Or at least someone have at tool that just let’s me load up maps and explore them. Game is ehhh to me but that world is so amazing. I’ll never forget the Shire or the size of Rohan or just running around Rivendell.

The hashtag campaign is also very manipulative. Epic wants the player base to get involved and do some of the heavy lifting. Players feel like heroes fighting for their own interests when they are really just pawns in a battle of corporate profits.

I don’t own a single Apple product, I just straight up don’t like the company but epic going all “Because Apple has BLOCKED your ability to update...” lol no you dipshits, you intentionally broke the terms of service and knew this would be the outcome to the point you had a whole p.r campaign in the chamber ready to

Exactly. This was a calculated and incredibly smooth PR rollout to get people on their side. It even came with a snappy video! Which all means that, while I ultimately don’t care about which Billion dollar corporation gets more of my money, in principle I’m on the side of Apple here.

Man, Epic is just going to keep forcing itself into markets now, isn’t it? They got their store to become a ‘thing’ by basically bribing people with free games all the time and bribing developers/publishers for (timed) exclusivity deals. Now they’re trying to start legal fights with the people who’s hardware they use

This has to be some of the most calculated marketing I have seen in a long time.

Update, 3:37pm—Epic tweets that it has “filed legal papers in response to Apple.”

Maybe not safety in terms of Epic, but safety in terms of any random developer putting direct purchases in their apps and funnels those charges through shady eastern European merchants with no accountability. There can’t be two sets of rules, one for ‘trustworthy’ devs and one for ‘untrustworthy’ devs so to speak. We

It’s easy to hate on Apple’s walled garden but I honestly don’t see any problem with this

This was a dick move for Epic. They would be similarly pissed if someone launched on Epic Store and bypassed their in-game purchase options.

If you get caught hacking in any game your entire steam account should be banned from online play. Fuck these guys.

Meet our protagonist who, after a loved one is brutally ripped away from them, decides to infiltrate a far away land, going up against a well armored army. With limited resources, our protagonist will climb mountains, jump onto enemies from above, shoot fire, and travel through tunnels. Through your journey, you’ll

I mean, “esports” “players” aren’t cool, but this is a bad look.

Speaking as someone with currently 1511 hours clocked into Warframe, here’s some words of wisdom from a veteran Tenno:

yeah, paying to play online with someone is horrible and sad.  paying for a service to play online with someone else... wait..

Why not go full ridiculous? Resident Evil SIX.

I mean I’m sure they didn’t have much to show about it hence it’s placement in the last direct but New Pokémon Snap feels like a way bigger deal to me than this.

I recently re-purchased Burnout Revenge on a backwards compatible sale and man, to me that really was the best Burnout game. Loved the traffic checking system, the dedicated crash mode and the individual courses. I played the hell out of Paradise, but it was just a different beast. I will take standalone tracks over
