This was actually my first Atlus game when it was released on Xbox 360. Imagine my delight when I discovered that Persona 5 basically was Catherine but with Jrpgs instead of puzzles and like 7 times longer.

I liked the puzzles just ok in Catherine. If anything, it makes me wish that the same team would tackle other types of games, but with the same awesome social system that frames each levels. Can you imagine a shooter, fantasy dungeon crawler, or DMC style game where you end/start each level at a stylized hang out…

This is great. There’s still nothing else out there quite like Catherine, especially on the console front. It tackles subjects that most games shy away from or gloss over, and it does so with a sense of style that nobody but Atlus can pull off. Definitely going to pick this up.

Catherine wasn’t merely a cult hit. It also has a following in the FGC and saw competitive play as a side game at EVO! I’m hyped as hell for a remake.
