While you're at it, will you also apologize for that whole taxation-without-representation thing? And for Piers Morgan?

Tradition.

*LEDs, not strobe.

No clue why you think its range was 4,700 miles. Wiki, dude. Wiki.

Oh, I wouldn't. But I would never consider them based on looks alone. It's Ingolstadt or Munich for me...

The A7 (and S and RS) is dead sexy. Nice choice. The hatch has got to be great for hauling stuff. I disagree about the IS, though; I think it's just plain fugly. I can't name a single Japanese car that would be on my radar if I were buying today. Infiniti and Lexus's whole design language is just too swoopy and

No, BMW's screens are fixed and non-retractable... :/

You're joking, right? Even if you aren't, you'd still be driving a...Volvo.

Then we're pretty much on the same page - integrated is better. I don't LOVE Audi's pop-up design, but I'm happy that they at least give you the choice to retract the damn thing, unlike BMW and MB.

Yeah, not bad. A lot going on on the upper dash, though. SWOOPY.

Well, you do get to see it magically fold out, then back in when you hit the button every time. WORTH IT.

To each their own. I don't want what amounts to an iPad permanently sticking out of my dash. I think it looks shitty. I prefer the screen designed into the dash, like in my A5:

Basically every manufacturer does a refresh half way through a car's life cycle. It's fine to do to keeps the car looking new until the next generation comes along. Not a waste. But rarely does it include a redesign of interior parts, especially HVAC controls.

Ha, exactly. Some people... I buy my car for its HVAC controls, don't you?

Major refreshes of what?

That's the very definition of an up town problem... But, I can see your point. It'd be nice for it not to default back to open every time you get in and start the car (which is what I assume it does?).

The new TT is a complete re-design. This was merely a refresh. Audi is not going to totally re-do their HVAC control module (which is shared with other models - A5, A4, A6) for a refresh. Not and "oversight" or "embarrassingly lazy" at all; it's fiscally proper and completely in-line with a refresh.

You're in the vast minority if you don't think this car is cutting edge for your money in 2014. And "functional" is what you want with your HVAC controls; you don't want that to be complicated. Find me a better looking interior. BTW, those black wood inserts? They have frickin' raised aluminum strips running

Disagree. Think it looks cool. It's optional anyway.

It's retractable, unlike in the BMW and Merc. All the info you need is displayed on the IP when it's hidden.
