Spot on! I like the Look of the 5er and 6er (though the 6er is to expensive for only being a 5er) but they are extremly heavy and I'm missing an engine Note. Some character.

SL with a Metal folding roof is Still 400lbs less than a 6er with a soft top, and it's Stiffer. I'd say it's better and so do Chris harris. And the SL is a unique luxury car, the 6er is a 5er with only 2 Doors or again 4 Doors as a GC

M5 around 43xxlbs that's right. But that's a lot to. The competition (E63 S AMG 4 Matic / RS6 Quattro) is lighter WITH AWD.

I don't think motortrend is that stupid, you Must simply admit the fact that BMWs got fat. One reason is that the 5er and 6er are based on the old 7er and don't use lightweight Materials like the competition.

Only for the looks, lack of engine sound, really heavy kills it for me some 6ers weigh ~4700lbs AND based on a 5Series, so you could get a M5 for less. But the 5 Series weighs even more.
