No, this feels EXACTLY like the Ubisoft DRM thing did. Blizzard may come up with fancy reasons and explanations and excuses, and fans may ignore it because hey, it's Blizzard, but that doesn't change the fact that it's always-online DRM just like any other.

It's got various issues. My main problems have been with it not working as intended. But then, even when it does, I find it very distracting, whereas Steam just quietly pops up a dark grey box in the corner, rather than be flashing colours all in your face.
What, exactly, can you buy with your gamerscore?
There are some games where it's worse than others, and some people just seem to have worse luck than others. I dunno where Viva Pinata is considered on the GFWL-pain-in-the-ass scale.
Not to mention that multiplayer shooters these days tend to come with 10 or less maps, when UT/UT2k4 came with dozens (over 100?)
