Fair enough ... I've watched a few episodes (my gf likes it), and always found it impossible to be interested in what was going on due to the characters appearing so ... wooden and uninteresting.

Why are you including a free English newspaper in this? Is it the lowest you could find? =P
You probably are....
This one's my favourite Batman, personally.
I played it for the first time last year, starting with Half-Life, then both expansions, then Half-Life 2, and both episodes.
I've always been shocked at how shows with such appalling acting AND writing get so popular...
Poor kid won't be adventuring no more.
That was about what I was going for ^^
In Soviet Russia....
"Xbox Paedophile Predators?"
I didn't recognise anything there...
Because I disagree with you, I'm ignorant?
Uh no. I've played plenty of games, some that I've played repeatedly and absolutely adored at the time, but the games that I simply can't forget, that I keep coming back to sometimes even after decades, are the ones where I got really, really sucked in. For me, that's mostly Thief, Thief2 and Unreal, and to a lesser…
The shooting in 2 was nearly as excessive as in the first, especially towards the end.
Yeah, that was ... weak. The game ended really suddenly, I didn't even get to stop their evil plan myself, it was just a cutscene.
Yeah, I've occasionally noticed that too. For some reason, the wide open area in the ship graveyard in U3 took me about 20 tries, and after that, I didn't die for another few hours.
I'm pretty sure you only get to play Marco Polo with Chloe =P
I won't disagree that the games are linear and focus on the cinematic experience more than exciting/varied gameplay, but you seriously lost me at calling anything worse than Call of Duty. I've only played a couple of those, but the characters were extremely uninteresting, the levels may as well have been straight…
I played the second game first, and thought the first was comparatively very weak. If you can't get yourself to go through the first one, start with Uncharted 2. There's no important story tie-ins or anything, and it really is much better.
