That surprises me. Pre-child, going home at the end of the day was awesome. Big fat me-time all evening. (Yeah, I love my kids and I'm not a bad mom, I just speak the truth)

I call this the "ceo" work of running a household. The stuff that isn't obvious (like laundry and dishes) but which still needs to be done, and is stressful and time-consuming. In addition to bills and money and scheduling and stuff like that, when you add kids in the mix you have a whole host of other things like…
I'm pretty sure this was the op's point even though everyone wants to dog pile on him or her because of the difference between pro life and pro choice. They don't seem to get that a lot of people identify as pro life when they really mean pro choice.
But you do work. What you are doing is work. He should recognize that.
To add to that, at work you also get, like, a paycheck and usually some form of societal recognition.
I'm anti-abortion and pro-choice.
Unfortunately, Pat Mainardi's Politics of Housework is still mandatory reading on this topic. Maybe things will change eventually, but it's taking a long goddamn time.
Now, I do think there's a social aspect to this - women genuinely do get judged on messy houses more than men. Bros will be bros, but women especially cut each other pieces for perceived failed homemaking. It's socialized in all of us that women ought to be Suzy Homemaker, which is BS.
Home projects are excruciating for me. I didn't learn how to stain wood or weatherproof the deck before I became an adult, and I feel so lost and incompetent when I try. If I'm asked to draft a contract for work I know exactly what that entails and how to go about it.
I'm sure like many artists, they did it, they don't know why they did it, and they're hoping someone else can explain it before they get called out on it.
I'd love to see an accurate doll whose stomach is open but seemingly empty because the embryo is far too small to visualize easily, accompanied by a few tiny pills.
See Supreme Court??? See what your affirmative action ruling did???
Poor Toni Braxton. That is internalized Tea Party/Christian Right misogynist self-hatred right there. I hope she finds some peace and forgives herself.
Of course getting pregnant has consequences. That was the entire fucking point of the spread, wasn't it?
im assuming youre a virgin? Because if you had sex in high school but were lucky enough not to get pregnant there is absolutely nothing that separates you from these people.
My top google searches would be:
You're kidding, right? I am assuming that you have never met a teen parent. Often, they are shunned from family, friends, and the local community. Sometimes they're kicked out of churches, clubs, and even school. There's nothing "validating" about the experience.
Against my OBGYN's advice, I ate raw spinach every day of my pregnancy. Of course I washed it thoroughly first but I felt the nutritional goodness of raw spinach outweighed the minimal risks they were so worried about. A year later and my son has never been sick.
No, teen pregnancies are only of value when they serve as cautionary tales of shame and regret.
I think it's an accomplishment to stay in school as a teen parent and graduate.
