Counterpoint: It’s great that Half-Life: Alyx is VR only, and everyone complaining (with the very small exception of people with disabilities, which is actually an interesting point that I would love to see expanded in a future article) sound like ridiculous, entitled Luddites.

I should preface this by saying that I really like Fury Road. I’m a fan of it.

I refer you to my other post to someone making the same point. Nobody makes long shooters in VR because nobody wants to play long shooters in VR. I played some Borderlands 2 in VR when that came out, and it turns out I don’t want to have a still-slightly-queasy-and-sweaty helmet on while I grind for weapons or circle

I know what you mean. I think VR is too much of a small market for any company to invest millions in making AAA VR games. So far the best we had were VR support for regular games like Resident Evil 7 or conversion of bigger games like Skyrim, Fallout 4 and LA Noire. the proper dedicated VR games are often concepts

I wonder how different will the experience be on a HTC Vive (my case) versus the Valve Index, which is what I suppose will be the ideal way to play this game.

(I’m guessing that it’s mostly being able to flip people off).

So pumped for this!

The combat is the conversations. Best RPG ever. Love it immensely.

Rey exists solely to be a Positive Role Model for Girls. She's not turning evil and especially not staying that way.

Hasn’t she ALWAYS been a formidable foe for Kylo?

He has a point tho, no ones cares as much about the deaths caused by traffic accidents etc as much as they do when 1 person gets shot.

So the solution is to ban all negative depictions of historically marginalized groups? No gay black villains? Are we talking about marginalized groups across all regions and cultures? The Chinese were marginalized during Japanese occupation in WW2 so does that mean no Chinese villains? Your example of a black villain

Its not an “inaccurate stereotype of a mentally ill individual” its an accurate depiction of THEIR mentally ill individual. This is no different than complaining that villains can’t be bald because that paints bald men in a bad light.

This is a non issue. Hes an evil mad man and this costume does not represent the state of mental health in our world. All the characters in Overwatch are stereotypes. Except Winston and Hammond because im not sure how you stereotype a hamster and a gorilla.

Jesus Christ, first TotalBiscuit and now iNcontrol. Didn’t even see this one coming. I just was looking up his biggest hits in casting two nights ago, not knowing that the illness that took him out of Homestory Cup was anything more than a flu.

Yes, as someone who’s followed the articles on this I’m aware that it is illegal in California to film in a public restroom. Although, I did not know it was simply a misdemeanor which makes all the hemming and hawing over this crap even more pathetic. My contention is that internet commentators seem to think this is a

Imagine thinking Kotaku should be in the business of providing good PR to streamers instead of reporting on game-related news.

I have absolutely no idea what they’ve made. All I said was that there’s been a ton of coverage about their game studio since they got the Cry Engine. I remember seeing articles about that everywhere at that point of time.

Probably just due to the fact that it wasn’t that big of a deal.

Wouldn’t be Kotaku (or any of their sister sites) without some cherry-picking.

the artist is responsible for doing the art; we are the ones doing the analysis... also Kasia Redesiuk explained a lot more about intent with this work than many artists would (not that authorial intent is necessarily relevant).
