I have to preface everything with that “I hope this isn’t snide” disclaimer because I’m a Pats fan and thus don’t get/deserve the benefit of the doubt. :)

That’s a fucking ambush. Horrifying.

This is going to sound snide but it’s not meant to be, honest:

The Yard Goats clearly felt that was a baaaaaaaaad move.

Nope. He’s about 5 foot 6. A small friend took a picture with him in spring training years ago and he was maybe 2 inches taller than her. He’s a little guy.

Thing is, while he’s super red-assed about himself and his own play, he’s not really that way about other players. When Machado injured him he went out of his way to say he thought it was just a baseball play and didn’t require retaliation (his pitchers did it anyway), and note the anecdote above in Roth’s piece where

I’m hoping like crazy that Mookie becomes the emotional center of the team. I want the Sox to build their entire club around him at this point.

Straight to the NHL at 19.

Thing is, he really is not good defensively at all. He’s a dynamic, entertaining player, but he’s also limited.

Kessel crushing walleye on a stick at the Minnesota State Fair would be wild, man.

“I played Grant Fuhr 76 games in a row, so these sweaters are fine.”

That goal Turek gave up to Owen Nolan gets worse each time I see it. Holy shit.

1996 was the Yzerman goal on Casey, right? I’m assuming he slipped into catatonia for several years afterwards (we had graduated by that point and were living in different cities).

My buddy was such a Blues fan, I clearly remember that when they lost to the North Stars in the ‘91 playoffs he got up and threw his shoe across the room at the TV. He was SO upset. One of my clearest college memories of him.

Hmm, they’re good but not the first thing I think of when I think about pizza in Boston. My in-laws live near the original Regina’s so maybe I’m just biased.

I just got a text from a college buddy who grew up in St Louis as a Blues fan. He hasn’t lived there in many years but he’s still a huge fan. It’s hard to exaggerate how freaking happy he is that they made it to the Final. Even though we’re on opposite sides in this series, we’ll chat about the games because we’re

I’m a Bruins fan, but of course St. Louis has a chance. They have a hot goaltender and good scoring. They play well as a team, they have a strong home-ice advantage...of course they could win it.

We have Regina’s, which is good but not a style of pizza.

I dunno, the things I’ll always remember about him are the game-tying and game-winning goals against Toronto in Game 7, 2013. Plus he had two goals in Game 7 against Vancouver. I’d say he’s got a pretty good flair for the dramatic.

I think it’s the guy in the grey sweatshirt and the mohawk.
