RIP Paul Bearer. :(
RIP Paul Bearer. :(
Right? The Cooks deal befuddles me.
Cousins got franchise tagged in two consecutive years.
I suspect it’s the teams, but also the players who bet on themselves to fulfill the contract terms, even though they’re almost never paid out. These guys got where they are by believing in their own abilities; hedging their bets by taking less money even if it’s guaranteed doesn’t seem to mesh well with that approach.
You’d think a savvy owner would see the market opportunity to guarantee contracts and thus have an edge when it comes to signing players. The overall numbers don’t have to be as high as the fake ones thrown around now, but if all the money’s guaranteed, it might allow a player to consider signing with that team…
Neshek’s delivery makes him memorable. I’ll always remember Todd Frohwirth for similar reasons.
I know a decent number of Eagles fans and they’ve described their emotions for that game in nearly those exact terms. I was happy for them, it was a long time coming after a lot of near-misses and heartbreak.
I think this deal gets overblown. Sure it’s funny, but it honestly makes some sense: the Mets could have made more by investing the backloaded money each year. Lots of players have this type of contract language: I think Manny Ramirez is getting more than $1 million a year from Boston until 2025.
The Browns never offered the #4 pick. Ever.
That was by far the coolest thing he’s ever done. I loved that.
You may have been there for the Welker benching, but your memory isn’t correct. You’re completely wrong. 100%, totally wrong.
Joke’s on you, I’m a Pats fan so I don’t have a soul!
Welker was benched for the first series of that game. That’s all. They didn’t fall helplessly behind with him stapled to the bench.
Congrats on the SB win, it was well deserved.
And with that I’m done here.
Going to have to disagree with you on his being our best defensive player. Butler had a big falloff last year. Gilmore was the better DB.
They’re going to go 12-4 or 13-3 and advance to at least the AFCCG again. I mean, honestly. “Danny Fucking Etling” lol. Please. SALVE MY EMOTIONAL WOUNDS.
Realisitically we’re never going to see this level of football dominance again.
Because I’ve watched every single game he’s coached here, and his explanation (“I made the moves that I thought would win us the game”) make sense to me given his history here.
We didn’t have Hightower. That was a tough one, he would have made a big difference. Our pass rush took the night off.
